Performing

I have been playing French horn for 10 years, originally learning with Lynn Roberts in Norfolk and then moving to Anthony Halstead whilst studying music at Canterbury Christ Church University.

I have played a wide repertoire of orchestral music with semi-professional and amateur orchestras across Norfolk such as Norwich Pops Orchestra, Norwich Philharmonic Orchestra, Mozart Orchestra, Academy of St. Thomas Orchestra and numerous musical shows put on across the county. I have also had the pleasure of playing French horn with the University of East Anglia Orchestra under the direction of Sir. Collin Davis.

At university I was first horn for the Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra and also played with the string orchestra, wind quintets, brass quintets, string quintets and small contemporary music ensembles. At this time I was also asked to play in the Canterbury Orchestra for numerous concerts. I have recently had the pleasure of playing Karl Jenkins’ “The Armed Man” for Prof. Grenville Hancox’s retirement and the University’s golden jubilee concert in Canterbury Cathedral.

Conducting

I am currently studying conducting on the Master’s course at Canterbury Christ Church University whilst continuing my conducting lessons with Peter Stark and Howard Williams.

At university I had the opportunity to be Choral Director and Assistant Music Director for the production of Sweeney Todd. In my final year I was music director of the variety cabaret production A Night at the Musicals. I have also had the pleasure of conducting a wide range of music such as: Stravinsky; A Soldier’s Tale, Bernstein: West Side Story Symphonic Dances, Mussorgsky; Pictures at an Exhibition (Arr. Ravel) and my own orchestration of Britten’s first string quartet for Chamber Orchestra.

In the summer of 2010 I attended the Canford Music School where I was able to have tuition from a number of leading conducting professionals. During the course I had the opportunity to conduct Mozart; “Linz” Symphony (No. 36), Mendelssohn; Symphony No. 4, Brahms; Violin Concerto and Bartok; Dance Suite.

Composition

I am also an experienced arranger and orchestrator and am currently working on my next set of compositions (please see my website www.tadeuszkaznowski.co.uk). During my time in education, at various times I studied composition with Prof. Paul Edlin, Prof. Paul Patterson, Prof. Roderick Watkins and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.
